Lucy, stuffed animal killer.

As you know, we have a dog.  Lucy.  She is a pure redbone coonhound and possibly one of the cutest puppies to have ever walked this earth.

SEEEE!!!???  How could you possibly say no to this wrinkly face??  Redbone coonhounds have a plethora of great qualities besides being obscenely cute and wrinkly.  Obviously intelligent, loyal, outdoorsy, kind, loving...etc.  Remember Where the Red Fern Grows anyone?

So anyone who met Lucy would assume the same, right?  Pssssh.  Lucy, we've learned, is posh and she's extremely scared of most people.  She likes being inside on her comfy bed sneakily watching the cat instead of outside in the sun running after  escaped cattle.  We practically have to force her to go outside to go pee.  Weird.

And she only likes chew bones when the cat is around.  So, in light of this situation, we thought she might like a plush animal toy to carry around with her since she obviously can't do that with la chat.

Well, within FIVE MINUTES, cute, helpless little stuffed fox was now inside-less.  I assume it's passive-aggressiveness she feels for Crookshanks.  Poor fox.  Never stood a chance to Lucy, the stuffed animal killer.

Our house. For the holidays :)

Sorry, I'm lazy.  I haven't gotten around to taking any pictures of our mostly finished home until now.  And it's only the bottom floor.  I'll get around to top at some point.

Lucy is a couch potato (hog).

Merry Christmas!!!

I don't know if you can read this, but here is the link to see this up close--it's a MUST READ if you have doggies!!

Mamacita

For my birthday, my mom took me on a hike to Chimney Rock.  It was awesome.  Well, the stairs were not awesome, but the views were!  Usually there is an elevator that takes you up to the top part of the hike...otherwise you have to climb about 1000 stairs.  Well, littleknownstous, the elevator was "out of order".  Suffice to say that I was holding onto the rail for dear life on the way back down to keep my legs from collapsing.  Other than that, the hike was nice.  :)

You know...some of this...

And a little of this....

And some more of this...

Until finally!!!

Bailey, of course, had no trouble at all climbing the gazillion stairs.

Bailey did not want to take the picture.  I think the waterfall was making her nervous.  What lab doesn't like water???

Woohoo!!  Made it to the top of the stairs!!

Did you notice the hat??  Ryan got it for me for my birthday.  It says RF for Randi Frazier, not Roger Federer.  Just to clarify.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I know it's only July, but I thought I'd give you a heads up since I know you'll be busy in the upcoming months.  I've been very good this year, and lately it seems like I've put up with a lot of sh** ...so I wanted to give you some ideas come Christmastime :) :)  I promise to make some extra delicious cookies!!

A puggle, but I'd love to pick him out please :)

Don't you think I'd look really cute with this walking my puggle??

I need a dog!

You know that saying "My biological clock is ticking"?  Mine is, but not for babies...well, maybe for babies...but not right now!!  Actually, what my "biological clock is ticking" for is a dog.  Yes, a cute, slobbery, loving dog who wants nothing more than for me to love and spoil it.

So I've found this website: http://www.puggle.org/rescue.asp.

I want a puggle.  Actually, I want a golden retriever--I've grown up with retrievers and I will stand by belief that they are the best dogs.  Second goes to puggles (a spectacular mix between a pug and a beagle).

But as much as I would love to have a cute, slobbery puggle, I simple cannot afford the expenses that usually come with doggies...or babies for that matter.  But I can look, right??  So back to the site; not only is it based on puggles, but you can rescue one!!   I get the best of both worlds!!  I'll let you know if I decide to get one...sometime in the future :)

Look how cute they are!!!!!!  This is Frankie and Max, 5 year old brother and sister who are in need of a family who can give them more attention.  If you are interested, please contact Brian K., in Braintree, MA (781)-356-0317.

Saturday, in the park...

Bam and I went to the NC Agriculture Center this past Saturday.  Why, you ask?  Dogs, dogs, and more dogs.  I love doggies, possibly more than anything, and this was like dog heaven for me!  The Ag Center was hosting a dog agility show!  Big dogs, little dogs, fast dogs, slow dogs, any dogs!  So I took some pictures...and some videos... :)  Enjoy!

Happy...23? Really??

This weekend was absolutely wonderful and I so appreciate all of the warm wishes from everybody!  It's hard to believe another year has gone by and yet, I still get asked what high school I attend.  Sigh.

Progression of day:
  • sleep in
  • wake up to Bailey's nose in my face sniffing for signs of life
  • went out to lunch at my favorite little eatery in Fairview: Sugar Beet Cafe!  best eggs benedict EVER
  • Ryan, Taylor, and I went into downtown to walk off eggs benedict
  • came home and played card game: He** yes!  I lost...there should be a rule about that on one's birthday..
  • ate favorite dinner: grilled hamburgers and artichokes
  • digestion
  • ate cake! (y mother made a home-made lemon cake with fresh lemon-sugar icing (see below) in the shape of my favorite flower: the sunflower.  and yes, it was eaten quite quickly...yum!)
  • deep sleep

Bailey, our choc. lab, excited about her new toy
Complete destruction of new toy..
On our way to Sugar Beet Cafe!!!!!!
(by the way...this is right after I curled my hair...notice the slow progression of 'straightness' my hair undergoes!!!)
Ryan and my grandfather, D-daddy
Mom and Ryan...and this look would be how I describe their relationship..
Me and my grandmother, Bam(a)
(literally 30 minutes after said 'hair-curling')
Delicious sunflower lemon cake :)
Yay!  23!
(straightness overcomes all)

Resourceful use of birthday balloons for uncles' sake :)
(notice proper placement of "outie" bellybutton)
